Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 2026
Area Autopsy is committed to making our website and independent home reports accessible to everyone, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our platform, aiming for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2) baseline.
1. What we are doing
To ensure a seamless experience across our platform, we focus on:
- Clear navigation: structuring our pages with clean heading hierarchies so they are easy to navigate via screen readers and keyboards.
- Readability: using high-contrast colour layouts and legible font scaling so our home intelligence data points can be read clearly.
- Device flexibility: ensuring our responsive map interfaces and report metrics scale cleanly across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
2. Map interface limitations
Because Area Autopsy is a map-centric intelligence platform, certain interactive geographical layers, boundary mapping tools, and visual data overlays may occasionally present navigation challenges for users relying solely on screen readers or non-mouse navigation.
We recognise these technical limitations and are continuously working on alternative data presentations to bridge the gap.
3. Technical specifications
Accessibility of Area Autopsy relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:
- HTML
- WAI-ARIA
- CSS
- JavaScript
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
4. Human support & feedback loop
We don't hide behind automated error reports. If you experience any accessibility barriers while trying to use our home maps, or if you need a specific report’s data read out to you, our human team is here to help.
Please get in touch with us directly and we will provide the information you need in an alternative format:
- Email: hello@areaautopsy.co.uk
- Response time: we aim to respond to all accessibility queries and data requests within 24 business hours.
Enforcement procedure: the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (where applicable) and the Equality Act 2010. If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) directly via equalityadvisoryservice.com.
